What's it about?
This is a talk that's aimed at beginners. I'm taking a bit of a risk and I'm going deep on sound - like what really is sound - and then I'm relating that to microphone use.
It took me a couple of years of audio training and practice before I really began to understand sound and it was a huge revelation for me, and it made a lot of things click into place. My hope is that if I start at sound and then work my way out to microphones then folks will be able to more easily remember best practices, and maybe even have the skills to work out their own solutions to difficult problems.
