It was great attending OzPod at the ABC today. Due to the low cost of creating and distributing podcasts people from many different fields have had the freedom to create innovative work.
Dan Blank, who works on Hollywood movies, has used the medium to create a series called ‘Carrier’ in the blockbuster style. He has gone to great effort to layer dialogue, music and sound effects in a similar way to a Hollywood movie. He has employed binaural microphone sets to create an immersive story. This technique creates audio that the ear perceives as being directional. It was great hearing about his work and getting an insight into his techniques.
